War Thunder01

War Thunder

The most technically ambitious game we cover. Three vehicle types, several difficulty modes and a level of detail that rewards study. Arcade battles are a fine place to start; realistic modes are where the design actually lives. The grind through top-tier vehicles is genuinely long, so pace yourself.

Forge of Empires02

Forge of Empires

A city that grows through the whole of human history, with a spatial planning puzzle underneath every age transition. Guilds add long-term structure without demanding a schedule. The best-designed browser strategy game currently in the catalogue.

Elvenar03

Elvenar

Two playable races with meaningfully different building trees, and a neighbour-trading system that gives the mid-game its shape. Calm to look at and calmer to play. If you enjoy optimising a grid, this is the gentlest way to spend a fortnight doing it.

Enlisted04

Enlisted

Squad command in a first-person setting, which puts it somewhere between a shooter and a small-scale tactics game. Dense, well-built maps and a satisfying sense of holding ground. Queue times outside peak hours are its weakest point.

Taonga05

Taonga

Tropical island farming with a clear production chain and a warm, hand-drawn look. Undemanding in the best sense — ten minutes twice a day keeps everything moving. Later islands lean harder on waiting periods, which is where interest tends to fade.

Ikariam06

Ikariam

Island colonies, resource specialisation and alliance politics, in an interface that has not changed much in years. The dated presentation is a real barrier, but the negotiation between players is still more interesting than in most newer titles.
